U.S. health authorities have made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups for getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, but is it actually safe for pregnant women and their babies? Well, the truth is that miscarriage reports from pregnant women who have taken the H1N1 swine flu vaccine are starting to pour in from all over the nation. Vaccines and pregnancy simply do not mix safely. In fact, the package inserts for the swine flu vaccines actually say that the safety of these vaccines for pregnant women has not been established.
What you are about to read below should shock and anger you. If they are telling us that the swine flu vaccine is not safe for children under 6 months of age, then why in the world would it be safe for pregnant women and their babies? That doesn't make an ounce of sense, does it?

I am so upset. I was so excited to be pregnant after trying for a year. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I joined this birth club and I was due June 25th. We have two healthy boys with no history of miscarriage. Everything was going great. Last Monday, I got the H1N1 vaccine thimerosal reduced (mercury reduced for pregnant women). On Tuesday morning, I started cramping and on Wednesday I started bleeding heavily. My hcg was 50 on Wednesday and I was almost 6 weeks along so it was low. They still thought that I might be pregnant but on Friday my hcg was down to 22. I am an emotional wreck. I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven't been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages. I hope that I did not cause this. I wish everyone the best.

I don't have an answer for you, but a friend of a friend just had a miscarriage 2-3 days after getting the shot. She was 7weeks. She had no previous history of m/c... No one can answer if they're related...it hasn't been out long enough and there haven't been any studies done on pregnant women. I will tell you, that it has made up my mind on getting it...I won't and I'm not going to get it for my DD either. My daughter and I both had H1N1 last week, and although it truly sucks...I think I'll take my chances. One doctor will tell you to get it and the next will tell you not too...you have to do what's in your heart.

my heart goes out to you as i recently miscarried as well and was due in june. i had a healthy heart beat at 6wks. then at 7.5 wks my son got the h1n1 mist vaccine which has live vaccine in it. the nurse said to be careful b/c it could technically spread if he rubbed his nose and touched a surface etc. the next night i miscarried and 5 days later was diagnosed with h1n1. i work from home, kids are home, hadnt been anywhere during that time. so the chances that it is all related are very high. the flu mist vaccine warns for immunocompromised patients (which includes prego) to stay away from recipients of the flu mist for 21 days.

I also received the H1N1 vaccination on October 22nd, 2009 and went into labor on October 25th, at 16 weeks pregnant and we just heard the heartbeat and everything was fine with my pregnancy on October 16th, 2009, then on October 28th my water broke then on October 29th, I delivered a stillborn baby boy, and no one can tell me why…Everyone wants to say it did not come from the shot but I believe it did. My baby was growing at the correct pace and everyone wants to brush off the vaccination. I say if you have the vaccination and suffer a miscarriage if they are able to perform an autopsy have it done.
I also agree something needs to be done and looked more into with this vaccination because most women are being advised it’s just something that happens, but I also had two healthy children normal pregnancies and when I received this vaccination with my third pregnancy, my baby is gone.

I received the H1N1 vaccine on October 16th and started experiencing cramping on the 22nd. I was nearly 17 weeks pregnant and gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on the 23rd. Like many of the other women here, the first thing I suspected was the H1N1 vaccine. I immediately asked a nurse at the hospital if that would have anything to do with it. Without hesitation, she told me “absolutely not.” I had reservations about getting the vaccine, but followed the advice of my long trusted family doctor. In a follow up appointment with my doctor 3 days after I lost my baby, I asked him if the vaccine would have had any adverse effects on my baby. He also said that it was not possible. I don’t believe that my doctor was necessarily lying to me, he was simply following the accepted practices and opinions of his field. I do, however, believe that as a nation, we are being lied to. This vaccine is NOT safe during pregnancy. There has not been enough testing done to determine this and there are far too many “coincidences” for this to be anything but a result of a vaccine that was hastily pushed into production and distribution in an effort to stop widespread panic. I have read so many stories in defense of the vaccine that will talk about how common miscarriages are, but I would challenge you to ask ANY health care professional how common second trimester miscarriages are. My baby was doing perfect developmentally and I had felt him move earlier that day. My heart goes out to all of you out there who have had to go through the same heartache and loss that I have had in the last couple of weeks. There is no reason that any woman or family should have to go through this. Get the word out to all of the pregnant women that you know. I know that if I had heard that women had been losing their babies shortly after they received the vaccine, I would have followed my gut and not gotten it myself. Maybe then Wyatt would have had a chance at life.

I’m from a town of 2000 in SD, there are several women pregnant and we are all due within a few weeks of each other. Four of us got the H1N1 vaccine 2 weeks ago and one by one each of us started to have preterm contractions. We are all due in Nov and Dec so we are further along than most of the people that lost their babies. There is no way you can tell us that our preterm labor was not caused by the H1N1 vaccine. It may look like a “fluke” to some people when these women are scattered all over the country but we are talking about 4 of us in our small community. Im not sure but not only myself, i know someone that withing 4 days of getting the shot we both miscarried, i was only 6 weeks and she was 4 months along, not sure if the shot caused it and cant find any other information but i am a little concerned about this coincidence.

I got a flu shot in pregnancy, developed incredibly strange symptoms immediately (numb hands, feet and mouth, heart palpitations, sudden weakness in my legs, a bright red face), began bleeding and miscarried by 11 weeks. I had no idea there was mercury in most flu shots but once I found out after the fact, I was assured that I’d had the “mercury free” form. As it turned out, the shot wasn’t completely mercury free and, according to the EPA website, it still had 5,000 times the limit for mercury in drinking water– not to mention a list of other toxins (MSG, formaldehyde, etc.).
I’d had no idea the shots were so dirty. I guess I’d been under the impression they were something like sterile water and a dead virus, that’s it.
The strange symptoms– which I’d been told were “just pregnancy” lasted six months. No one could figure out what was wrong with me, why I couldn’t make stairs, why I felt like I’d been shot with novocaine. I learned later from a book by Jane Hightower that these were all symptoms of mercury exposure. I guess I’m one of those susceptible people. No one in my family is getting the H1N1– no one even gets regular flu shots anymore, we all read labels.
If you are a pregnant mother, please do not take the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. Instead, do everything that you can do to avoid public places and make sure to wash your hands more than you usually would. Take extra large doses of immunity building vitamins and research many of the great natural ways for fighting the flu that are out there on the Internet.
The truth is that if you do take the vaccine and then something happens, you will NOT be able to sue anyone (thanks to Congress). You will have to bear all the responsibility yourself. That doctor who kept pushing and pushing it on you will tell you that it could not have been the vaccine and that you probably would have miscarried anyway.
Do you honestly want to inject a vaccine that may contain mercury, formaldehyde, polysorbate 80 (associated with infertility), triton X100 (a strong detergent), phenoxyethanol (antifreeze) and a whole bunch of other toxic ingredients into your system when you know that your baby will absorb it too and has no defenses against most of these things?
In the very short video posted below, you will see one health expert explain to Sean Hannity that not even the swine flu vaccine package insert says that it is safe for pregnant women.....
The reality is that if you are pregnant, you need to hear what both sides have to say before ever subjecting your baby to the swine flu vaccine. I was in support of vaccines and was comfortable with the fact that there is a national database that records “all” vaccine reactions so they can see trends and such – which is the info I got from my doctor.
Then, my daughter had a reaction to a vaccine at 18 months old. It was horrifying to watch her body swell for three days and not be able to do anything (Benadryl slowed the swelling, but couldn’t reverse it until three days had passed). I knew there were risks to vaccines, but it had seemed that the benefits outweighed the risks. I could have accepted that.
I was not prepared for the reaction of the medical community. My doctor’s office refused to admit it was a reaction – even while she was swelling! They were concerned about the swelling, asked me if I knew how it started, then, when I mentioned that I suspected the vaccine they sent me home and said I was imagining things. A few hours later she had to go to the ER. Later I took her to an allergist who confirmed that it was a reaction. He told me that a lot of people react to the 3rd DTaP shot – even if they’ve been fine before. Still, he encouraged me to continue getting all the shots except for the last DTaP.
No one ever reported any of this to the national database.
My pediatrician pressured me to get more shots for my kids, but I refused. I’ve recently found out my kids’ medical records falsely state that my kids DID get additional vaccines.
My daughter had been ahead on speech milestones at the time of the reaction, from that date (October) to the following July, she only learned 8 new words, and her language development froze. We’ve done three years of therapy now and she is in special ed.

My heart goes out to all who have suffered horrific events due to these vaccines. I have a beautiful 2 and 1/2 year old daughter who was born a month premature, at the time, all the health care practitioners involved in our lives strongly were pushing that she receive all the ‘necessary’ vaccines…. My mothers heart and gut reaction strongly said “no” but being a first time mom and feeling the pressures of our health care advisors I agreed to having her first set of shots done. Days later she developed a horrible ‘chest cold’ which never really cleared… she would have good days only to relapse into endless nights of trying to clear her little chest and holding her while she cried. Of corse….. none of this was vaccine related. Then came time for her second set of shots… oh boy…. the stomach aches began… but our health unit would not stop calling until I made an appointment to bring her in, so, I did…. only agreeing to a select few of the vaccinations, resulting in more congestion toped with ear infections and many bouts of anti biotics. Her condition quickly spiraled downward into 2am visits to the hospital for a Ventilator because her chest was so tight each breath was a huge effort. Each doctor who saw her assured me that this was more common than I thought and that she would likely ‘grow out of it’. Needless to say I will never let another vaccination needle touch her little body again. Weather our health system wants to admit it was related or not I cant help but believe that it was. Other than being small she was 100% healthy at birth and remained that way for 3 months…. until her first set of shots.

In all my years, I do not remember EVER seeing such a huge push for people to get a flu vaccine. THat’s 50 years. Do you remember anything like today?
When we first started hearing about the spread of H1N1, the information was bogus because later the CDC admitted that they wren’t really TESTING people to see if they actually had H1N1. Now they say most had the ordinary seasonal flu. So they lied when they said it was spreading rapidly.
When we have a blizzard, 9 months later we see a rise in the population levels. A baby boom. This happened in 78.
We have over 15 million Americans unemployed (likely more) and wouldn’t we expect all those unemployed people who have so much time on their hands, to maybe generate another baby boom? More dependents would ADD to the cost of food stamps, welfare, etc.?
It will be VERY interesting to see if population levels go up or if they, for an ‘unknown’ reason, suddenly begin to decline. It would be very hard for people to prove that a vaccine caused them not to ovulate or to be able to carry a baby to full term. If you cannot produce the substance that was injected into you, you cannot prove if something caused a problem. There is no evidence.
The U.S. Government has done studies on U.S. citizens and members of the U.S military over the years. Obviously they did not know that they were being harmed at the time. It all came out later.

I have to say I am sorry for all the losses I’ve read about on this page…It must be so painful to experience the loss of a child, even one you’ve never met.
I’m not a person who gets vaccines, but I am a school teacher in a school where we had multiple reported cases of H1N1. One of my students even got it and came t school before she knew what she had… I opted for the vaccine because this is my first pregnancy, I had been high risk and didn’t want to take any chances. I take very good care of myself take vitamins, eat healthy, wash hands (as often as possible) but I cannot control my students habits or their parents. I can’t force a parent to keep a sick child at home or to take them to the doctor, and I can’t force students to cough or sneeze into tissues and then sanitize their hands.
Because of all these reasons I got the vaccine in November, from what I can tell I got VERY lucky! Thankfully I’m 28 weeks pregnant and my little boy is growing well and extremely active.
I think there needs to be more accountability for vaccines and doctors need to stop telling women that they would have miscarried anyway. I know many women will miscarry, and I know that there will always be stillbirths, but there seem to be too many coincidences. I don’t think it’s a government conspiracy but I do think that these companies should be held liable for doing appropriate research or at least keeping better records. I also agree with one of the above posters that studies should be done on miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine is administered and compare it to the 20% average. I’m pretty sure they don’t do this because they’ll realize that there really s a problem…
I am so scared now, me and my wife had taken a H1N1 shot that made in Canada but we just found out that she is three weeks pregnant two days ago which means she was week pregnant when she took the vaccine. We are ecstatically happy with the baby but afraid of the influence of this vaccine. Does this vaccine can affect the fetus and it is growth in anyway? THE INSERT FOR THE H1N clearly states in section 8:1 PREGNANCY category C: Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent vaccine or AFLURIA. It is also not known whether these vaccines can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnany women or can affect reproduction capacity. Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent vaccine should be given to pregnant women ONLY if clearly needed.

I had the vaccine when I was only 4 weeks pregnant, and had no problems. I’m at 20 weeks right now and the baby is as healthy as ever!
What I find most worrying is that hCG (pregnancy hormone) has been administered in typhoid vaccines in poor countries. When hCG is added, the body not only develops antibodies against the carrier (flu virus, typhoid, etc.) but also develops antibodies against hCG. If the woman is pregnant, her body has this hormone and a battle begins to kill off the hormone. The hormone is necessary for the uterus to support a fetus. If the woman is not pregnant, she develops the antibodies and when she does become pregnant, her body produces hCG. The hCG antibodies then go to battle to kill this necessary hormone.
Any woman who has lost their baby or who has had this h1n1 vaccine should DEMAND that she be tested for anti-hCG antibodies. If they are present, she most likely will never conceive.
Remember that ‘studies’ have been conducted by pharmaceutical companies and it might also interest you to know that these same pharmaceutical companies have ties with the CDC, WHO and other government agencies.
I also experienced a miscarriage within days of receiving the H1N1 shot. I had an ultrasound the same day as the vaccine at 8 weeks and a second ultrasound documented fetal demise approx. 3 days later.
PLEASE NOTE: For anyone who has experienced any reactions after the H1N1 shot, (especially a miscarriage) please complete this form so that it can be documented and turned into the CDC. It’s the least you can do to document what has happened and to possibly prevent this from happening to others!!!

If you are pregnant and are thinking about having an H1N1 innoculation in Canada, you most likely will have the unadjuvanted vaccine. As noted below, off the glaxosmithkline (manufacturers) website itself, under PRODUCT INFORMATION LEAFLET for FLUVIRAL® (our non-adjuvanted version)- Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Pandemic Monovalent Vaccine (Without Adjuvant), it states clearly that there is 10 TIMES more mercury than the non-adjuvanted one.
Thimerosal = 50mg, (or 25 micrograms)
List of Excipients
The vaccine is formulated with phosphate buffered saline composed of: sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium phosphate dibasic heptahydrate, potassium phosphate monobasic and water for injection. Thimerosal 50 μg per 0.5 mL dose is added as a preservative. The vaccine also contains trace residual amounts of egg proteins, formaldehyde, sodium deoxycholate and sucrose. Antibiotics are not used in the manufacture of this vaccine.

So, if you have the non-adjuvanted version, you are taking a vaccine with 10x’s more mercury (thimerosal) than the adjuvanted one.
If you are pregnant, please avoid this vaccine altogether.
This is a little different, but myself, my husband, and my 2 and 3 year olds got the live H1N1 while my little 3 month old baby was with us. Three days later my little baby was a “Near SIDS death”. The doctors said it had nothing to do with our vaccines of course. I also had a seasonal flu shot while I was pregnant with this same baby… something I did not have with my other children. Just makes me wonder.

It’s not only happening in the U.S and Canada. I live in Ireland and lost my baby also. I received the H1N1 vaccine and 1 week later miscarried my baby. I was 9 weeks pregnant. Had a scan at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat. Got the vaccine and went into the hospital with bleeding and they told me babies heart had stopped at 7.5 weeks. Regular Flu Vaccine Actually INCREASES Risk of Swine Flu

I am a midwife, and am seeing very odd placental anomalies now from mothers whose H1N1 vaccinations were taken last fall during first trimester. SO CONFUSED. I am 21 weeks pregnant. I have been BATTLING over getting the flu shot or not. My husband and his brother living with us travel and fly regularly in the Country Music Industry, flying here and there, weekly then coming home. We also have a friend who’s daughter got the Swine Flu at 36 weeks…she had to choose between her daughter’s life, or the baby’s life. Swine flu is DEADLY to pregnant women and the baby who’s lungs haven’t formed fully yet to endure it. So I am torn…. I’ve read these accounts but there are just as many accounts of people begging pregnant women (who’s pregnant compromised immune systems can’t handle the swine flu) to get the vaccine as Swine Flu is deadly to both Mom and Baby. SO CONFUSED. There are just as many pros and cons to both sides.
It is brain dead simple, if there is a proven risk that a flu vaccine could increase the chance of a pregnant woman having a miscarriage, then they should not get it. Flu vaccines are a load of crap anyway if you ask me.
For those of us who have read and significantly researched the topic, I’m not surprised. My heart goes out to the innocent people that have been and continue to be duped.
My wife was pregnant in Oct 2009 and she was told to have the swine flu shot, mercury free. She never had a history of miscarriages but a week later she miscarried. It was our first and probably last chance to have a child together. Would like to personally “thank” Dr. Penkala’s office in Lincoln for being so ignorant and costing us an innocent life. I feel bad for those who have experienced miscarriages, but the recurrent theme is that these miscarriages occurred early in the first trimester. We know during the first trimester anything can happen, regardless if you have had many successful oregnancies. Perhaps it is coincidence. We know for a fact the immune system in pregnancy is suppressed and adding a potent virus to the mix can kill a pregnant woman or fetus. For 2010 the swine flu was added to the seasonal flu shot. Both are DEAD viruses… The CDC would not recommend pregnant women receiving this shot unless there was clinical evidence that benefit outweighed risk.

If the U.S authorties have made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups in getting the H1N1 flu vaccines, All that needs to be said is, that it is a form a population control SAD BUT TRUE! After being pg, declining the h1n1 vaccine- and being sooo thankful I did not get it (after seeing so many stories of miscarriage on the internet/news), I would like to take the opportunity to share/educate others on the risks of h1n1 while pg. I had the vacccine when I was 6 weeks pregnant. Because I have asthma I was encourage to get the vaccine. I started to miscarry 2 days ago when I was at 10 weeks pregnant. I’m just home from a scan that showed my baby stopped growing at 6 weeks and 2 days. That is exactly in around the time I got the vaccine. I have 2 healthy kids and pregnancies went fine. I’m so heartbroken to think that me getting the vaccine could have killed my precious unborn child. i’ll never forgive myself. If I had of read the above posting before i got the vaccine I would definately not have got it.
I had 3 members of my family pregnant at the same time and all 3 lost there baby’s with less then a month after receiving the swine flu vaccine. Also my sister knows of 4 people who was pregnant. 2 never had the vaccine and had healthy baby’s and the other 2 lost there baby and they had the vaccine. I really think more research should be done on this vaccine .

I was 7 weeks pregnant when I recieved the H1N1 shot in Oct 2009. When I went in for an ultrasound for the 12-13 week screening they found that the baby had no heartbeat and had stopped growing at 7 weeks. I do believe that the shot had something to do with this. I have not been able to get pregnant since and I was just wondering if anyone else has been able to get pregnant after having the H1N1 shot.
WOmen keep staying, “I had the vaccine and my babies perfectly fine” That is YOU! You are separate person with a different chemistry not everyone reacts to food, drugs, or the environment the same way. That is why some people have allergies to peanuts and other don’t. That means just because it went fine for you does not mean that another women’s fetus might not have an adverse reaction to the vaccine. Eveyone is different.
These blanket statments have to stop. Its misleading and frankly it lies. They don’t have the proof plain and simple. So therefore you must be careful and decide for yourself. Take what is said with a grain of salt.
Stop running around telling everyone its perfectly safe when you can’t prove it.
What about long term effects of the vaccine??? Is their something that develops later in life? Who knows, does anyone know the answers to these questions NO, noone knows!!!!

My sister received the HIN1 two years ago and within days of the vaccine miscarried.
I also had the H1N1 vaccine after I saw my baby’s heartbeat for the first time. At follow up visit a week later, the baby was dead.
I will NEVER do this again.
When you actually look into research and studies based on pregnancy and birth, you will notice it is very hard to draw a conclusion or direct link between certain things. Many pregnancies do end up, sadly, with a miscarriage.
A large proportion (over 50%) of these miscarriages are unexplained. Certain things happen in the body which cause this miscarriage that cannot be tested for later. In regards to a interuterine death, or an adverse outcome, that baby can not be put back in and something different tried. In other words, you CANNOT say that for example the swine flu vaccine is what caused a miscarriage. You cannot run a randomised control trail and see if in the same situation, with the same woman, the baby will survive if the mother hadn’t had the vaccine.
It is very dangerous to use scare tactics to push an opinion. Children are now dying for example from pertusis as people are no longer immunising. People stopped immunising because certain groups have used completly FALSE and NON EVIDENCED based informationn to scare people.
DON’T listen to articles writtin based on personal experience. If you truely wish to make an informed decision which will be best for our mothers and children RESEARCH yourself. And that is not research from any old person, that is randomised controlled trails conducted by people with no affiliation to any strong minded groups (companies etc).

My name is April. I have never had issues in pregnancy. I took the FluMist at a clinic in 2009. I had a lot tougher time getting pregnant this time (I have always gotten pregnant first try), but finally did only to have lose it in the first trimester. It was my first loss. I have been trying to get pregnant since 2009 and can not keep a pregnancy. I have also not been sick since FluMist, not even a cold, neither have any of the rest of my family. None of us have been sick since getting it. It’s odd. The immune system is naturally suppressed in pregnancy, answer the question “why”. Then realize that any immunization stimulates an immune response. I feel betrayed by the FDA and upset at Medimune that they have destroyed so many lives by lack of reproductive studies on this product. I feel with so many of us we have a right to request they be done. I am just devastated by all of this. I work in research I have seen what H1N1 infections can do, how it can make the lungs look like mush. But that is no excuse to not be fully informed on side effects from drugs they are giving us. NONE. It truly seems I have been sterilized against my will. I only pray it does not affect all the young girls it was given to. Something is not right.
My son was 15 months when he got a small amount of flu shot. I have never agreed with flu shots. His grandmother approved it without my consent. He ended up with what seemed like a bad cold. After a week he didn’t improve and when I took him to a pediatrician. They said his breathing was to the point where they thought he would stop at any moment. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. He had rsv. We had to spend a week in the hospital. Every hour they had to come in and suction out mucus. I will never get a flu shot and neither will my son. We stay healthy and drink vitamin c. The way I see it everyone should research the flu shot risks. I hate people that didn’t get sick with a flu shot and think oh everyone else that had a reaction to it is being a baby.
My daughter just gave birth. We are both concerned and informed about the dangers of massive amts of toxins that the hosp pushes on our newborn. (vit k, Hep B are just the start) It is HORRIBLE how 3 pedias have been brow-beating us about our decision. Each one more forceful than the previous. Parents must educate themselves and be steadfast. The Gov and even Drs are not looking out for us anymore. This is a very scary world to be living in now.
I just had to comment on this… FYI, your body is a wonderous system. It mends itself if you take care of yourself. If you do not allow yourself to build up immunity, your body has NO idea how to fight off foreign cells.

Thank you to all who have posted here, sharing their experiences. I am glad I have found this. I am 9 weeks pregnant and work at a hospital. They encourage all employees to get the free flu shot. I was very torn as to whether or not this was a good idea. The first trimester is a very fragile time in pregnancy and I felt very nervous about exposing my delicate embryo to the weird chemicals that are in vaccines. These stories have solidified my feelings that it is just not worth the risk. I am a healthy 28 year old woman, and frankly, I’d rather risk getting the stupid, annoying, flu than jeopardize my early pregnancy.
there are certain things to consider here.
1: how many of these women got the nasal spray vaccine? The nasal spray is inappropriate for pregnant mothers because it is a live virus. Medical professionals would never recommend the nasal spray, and even the center for disease control says only healthy people between 2-49 should get the spray.
2. Allergy to eggs, many vaccines contain egg products.
3. There is nothing in vaccines that reacts with the body, other than the viral components.
4. If you have had allergic reactions to vaccines in the past, don’t get one while pregnant.
Childhood diseases have seen a rise in the past 20 years because people stopped vaccinating, don’t listen to personal accounts they mean nothing.
