When Organic Is Not Really Organic

When are organic products not really organic?  Well, when you buy them at the organic food store but it turns out that they were made in China.  Yep, that's right.  A major news investigation has revealed that many of the "organic foods" that you are buying at organic food stores are actually made in China.  It turns out that Whole Foods (the largest organic food chain in the United States) is selling a large number of "organic foods" that are actually produced across the globe in China.  Of course the notification that the product is made in China is in small lettering on the back of the package, so most consumers never have any idea that the organic product that they just purchased was grown half a world away.

In fact, if you are trying to eat organic, you might want to avoid anything made in India as well.  It is now estimated that 75 percent of India's surface water is contaminated by human and agricultural waste.  In fact, according to a UN study on sanitation, far more people in India have access to a cell phone than to a toilet.

Talk about disturbing!

The truth is that it is getting really hard to find products that are organic and that are good for your health these days.

For example, it turns out that many big American cattle farms actually feed chicken manure to cattle because it is so inexpensive and because the U.S. produces far too much of it to properly dispose of as fertilizer.

Are you eating cattle that have been raised on chicken manure?

How would you ever know?

In addition, a new study shows that genetically modified crops "can cause liver and kidney damage".  Considering the fact that the vast majority of soy and corn produced in the United States is genetically modified, that is very, very bad news.

But our cell phones are slowly poisoning us too.  If you doubt that, take the time to read this article.

Even the health problems that we did know about (such as fluoride in the water) are actually a lot worse than we  originally thought.

We live during a time of great technological advances, but many of those advances are polluting the air we breathe, the food that we eat and the water that we drink.  The result is a massive health crisis as our aging population develops all sorts of chronic and debilitating diseases.

We encourage as many people as possible to "go organic", but as you can see above, that is getting very difficult to do.

Let's hope that there will be a mass awakening about what we are doing to our bodies and the world around us.  Because if not, the price that we will all pay will be enormous.

I cannot emphasise enough the damage to health with adding fluoride to water – especially for children. There is strong evidence to suggest that kids who have been exposed to higher levels of fluoride suffer more with their liver, kidneys, cancer and tumours.

Good article – It’s about time that we stood up to what is sold as organic but nothing is further than the truth!

Thanks a lot for giving everyone an exceptionally special chance to check tips from this site. It’s usually very ideal plus packed with amusement for me and my office colleagues to visit your web site at a minimum three times in one week to see the fresh issues you have. Of course, I’m also at all times astounded for the extraordinary advice served by you. Selected two ideas in this posting are rather the most beneficial I have had.

this is really disturbing considering that GMOS use bacteria to enhance the resistance of crops to diseases. Ive taught this to my students in the hope that they will be more aware of food choices.
