U.S. health authorities have made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups for getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, but is it actually safe for pregnant women and their babies? Well, the truth is that miscarriage reports from pregnant women who have taken the H1N1 swine flu vaccine are starting to pour in from all over the nation. Vaccines and pregnancy simply do not mix safely. In fact, the package inserts for the swine flu vaccines actually say that the safety of these vaccines for pregnant women has not been established.

I am so upset. I was so excited to be pregnant after trying for a year. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I joined this birth club and I was due June 25th. We have two healthy boys with no history of miscarriage. Everything was going great. Last Monday, I got the H1N1 vaccine thimerosal reduced (mercury reduced for pregnant women). On Tuesday morning, I started cramping and on Wednesday I started bleeding heavily. My hcg was 50 on Wednesday and I was almost 6 weeks along so it was low. They still thought that I might be pregnant but on Friday my hcg was down to 22. I am an emotional wreck. I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven't been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages. I hope that I did not cause this. I wish everyone the best.

I don't have an answer for you, but a friend of a friend just had a miscarriage 2-3 days after getting the shot. She was 7weeks. She had no previous history of m/c... No one can answer if they're related...it hasn't been out long enough and there haven't been any studies done on pregnant women. I will tell you, that it has made up my mind on getting it...I won't and I'm not going to get it for my DD either. My daughter and I both had H1N1 last week, and although it truly sucks...I think I'll take my chances. One doctor will tell you to get it and the next will tell you not too...you have to do what's in your heart.

my heart goes out to you as i recently miscarried as well and was due in june. i had a healthy heart beat at 6wks. then at 7.5 wks my son got the h1n1 mist vaccine which has live vaccine in it. the nurse said to be careful b/c it could technically spread if he rubbed his nose and touched a surface etc. the next night i miscarried and 5 days later was diagnosed with h1n1. i work from home, kids are home, hadnt been anywhere during that time. so the chances that it is all related are very high. the flu mist vaccine warns for immunocompromised patients (which includes prego) to stay away from recipients of the flu mist for 21 days.

My baby was growing at the correct pace and everyone wants to brush off the vaccination. I also agree something needs to be done and looked more into with this vaccination because most women are being advised it’s just something that happens, but I also had two healthy children normal pregnancies and when I received this vaccination with my third pregnancy, my baby is gone.

I received the H1N1 vaccine on October 16th and started experiencing cramping on the 22nd. I was nearly 17 weeks pregnant and gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on the 23rd. Like many of the other women here, the first thing I suspected was the H1N1 vaccine. I immediately asked a nurse at the hospital if that would have anything to do with it. Without hesitation, she told me “absolutely not.” I had reservations about getting the vaccine, but followed the advice of my long trusted family doctor. In a follow up appointment with my doctor 3 days after I lost my baby, I asked him if the vaccine would have had any adverse effects on my baby. He also said that it was not possible. I don’t believe that my doctor was necessarily lying to me, he was simply following the accepted practices and opinions of his field. I do, however, believe that as a nation, we are being lied to. This vaccine is NOT safe during pregnancy. There has not been enough testing done to determine this and there are far too many “coincidences” for this to be anything but a result of a vaccine that was hastily pushed into production and distribution in an effort to stop widespread panic. I have read so many stories in defense of the vaccine that will talk about how common miscarriages are, but I would challenge you to ask ANY health care professional how common second trimester miscarriages are. My baby was doing perfect developmentally and I had felt him move earlier that day. My heart goes out to all of you out there who have had to go through the same heartache and loss that I have had in the last couple of weeks. There is no reason that any woman or family should have to go through this. Get the word out to all of the pregnant women that you know. I know that if I had heard that women had been losing their babies shortly after they received the vaccine, I would have followed my gut and not gotten it myself. Maybe then Wyatt would have had a chance at life.

I’m from a town of 2000 in SD, there are several women pregnant and we are all due within a few weeks of each other. Four of us got the H1N1 vaccine 2 weeks ago and one by one each of us started to have preterm contractions. We are all due in Nov and Dec so we are further along than most of the people that lost their babies. There is no way you can tell us that our preterm labor was not caused by the H1N1 vaccine. It may look like a “fluke” to some people when these women are scattered all over the country but we are talking about 4 of us in our small community. I got a flu shot in pregnancy, developed incredibly strange symptoms immediately (numb hands, feet and mouth, heart palpitations, sudden weakness in my legs, a bright red face), began bleeding and miscarried by 11 weeks. I had no idea there was mercury in most flu shots but once I found out after the fact, I was assured that I’d had the “mercury free” form. As it turned out, the shot wasn’t completely mercury free and, according to the EPA website, it still had 5,000 times the limit for mercury in drinking water– not to mention a list of other toxins (MSG, formaldehyde, etc.).
I’d had no idea the shots were so dirty. I guess I’d been under the impression they were something like sterile water and a dead virus, that’s it.
The strange symptoms– which I’d been told were “just pregnancy” lasted six months. No one could figure out what was wrong with me, why I couldn’t make stairs, why I felt like I’d been shot with novocaine. I learned later from a book by Jane Hightower that these were all symptoms of mercury exposure. I guess I’m one of those susceptible people. No one in my family is getting the H1N1– no one even gets regular flu shots anymore, we all read labels.
If you are a pregnant mother, please do not take the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. Instead, do everything that you can do to avoid public places and make sure to wash your hands more than you usually would. Take extra large doses of immunity building vitamins and research many of the great natural ways for fighting the flu that are out there on the Internet.
The truth is that if you do take the vaccine and then something happens, you will NOT be able to sue anyone (thanks to Congress). You will have to bear all the responsibility yourself. That doctor who kept pushing and pushing it on you will tell you that it could not have been the vaccine and that you probably would have miscarried anyway.
Do you honestly want to inject a vaccine that may contain mercury, formaldehyde, polysorbate 80 (associated with infertility), triton X100 (a strong detergent), phenoxyethanol (antifreeze) and a whole bunch of other toxic ingredients into your system when you know that your baby will absorb it too and has no defenses against most of these things?

I was in support of vaccines and was comfortable with the fact that there is a national database that records “all” vaccine reactions so they can see trends and such – which is the info I got from my doctor.
Then, my daughter had a reaction to a vaccine at 18 months old. It was horrifying to watch her body swell for three days and not be able to do anything (Benadryl slowed the swelling, but couldn’t reverse it until three days had passed). I knew there were risks to vaccines, but it had seemed that the benefits outweighed the risks. I could have accepted that.
I was not prepared for the reaction of the medical community. My doctor’s office refused to admit it was a reaction – even while she was swelling! They were concerned about the swelling, asked me if I knew how it started, then, when I mentioned that I suspected the vaccine they sent me home and said I was imagining things. A few hours later she had to go to the ER. Later I took her to an allergist who confirmed that it was a reaction. He told me that a lot of people react to the 3rd DTaP shot – even if they’ve been fine before. Still, he encouraged me to continue getting all the shots except for the last DTaP.
No one ever reported any of this to the national database.
My pediatrician pressured me to get more shots for my kids, but I refused. I’ve recently found out my kids’ medical records falsely state that my kids DID get additional vaccines.
My daughter had been ahead on speech milestones at the time of the reaction, from that date (October) to the following July, she only learned 8 new words, and her language development froze. We’ve done three years of therapy now and she is in special ed.

My heart goes out to all who have suffered horrific events due to these vaccines. I have a beautiful 2 and 1/2 year old daughter who was born a month premature, at the time, all the health care practitioners involved in our lives strongly were pushing that she receive all the ‘necessary’ vaccines…. My mothers heart and gut reaction strongly said “no” but being a first time mom and feeling the pressures of our health care advisors I agreed to having her first set of shots done. Her condition quickly spiraled downward into 2am visits to the hospital for a Ventilator because her chest was so tight each breath was a huge effort. Needless to say I will never let another vaccination needle touch her little body again. Weather our health system wants to admit it was related or not I cant help but believe that it was. Other than being small she was 100% healthy at birth and remained that way for 3 months…. until her first set of shots.

Point is.. Ap, lol. Personally, I would not have gotten the flu shot if I were pregnant. I remember the horrors of thalidomide. Don’t Dr’s always say not to take ANYTHING when you’re pregnant? I will take my chances and hope that my natural immunity will fight off the flu. Other comment about Dr’s reactions. Seems like every time I experience a reaction to a drug, the Dr. says, Oh it couldn’t be the drug. Yet when I stop taking it, the reaction goes away. I think we all need to listen to our own bodies and not succumb to the mass histeria perpetrated by the media.
Miscarraiges happen everyday. It was a coincedence that it happened to happen after you got the shot for H1N1. Until they can PROOVE it was a direct cause of the shot, it was just natures way…and you happened to get the shot so you would obviously blame it on that.

I’m 18 weeks along and don’t get the regular flue vaccine and I’m certainly not getting this over-exaggerated swine flue one either….I’ve been exposed to the swine flue through other children and I am perfectly fine. Thing here is – if you eat healthy (toxin/chemical-free foods) then your immune system will be strong enough to protect you from illness. If you are in great health, then your fetus is too.

Dr. Roby Mitchell, M.D. (www.drfitt.com) issued a retraction (you can see it on youtube) to nurses he originally advised to get the H1N1 flu vaccination. After reading the insert of the vaccine, he retracted his advice. Apparently not only does the package insert warn that the company does not know it’s affect on a fetus but it also says that it does not know how the vaccine might affect future reproductive ability! I’ll be interested to know if any of these poor women who lost their babies are able to get pregnant again.

You should note that the manufacturers are already trying to counter this information with stories about how the rates are not higher than usual and that women would have miscarried anyway.

When I was pregnant with my kids back in 1997 and 1999, my OB said the flu shot was not safe for pregnancy! It still isn’t! Both my kids are fully vaccinated, regretfully. Both had serious chronic health issues until I made several lifestyle changes (homeopathy, chiropractic care, pro-biotics, whole food nutrition, dietary changes and no more vaccines. They both still have some health issues, however, they are drastically improved! Yay!
The fear tactics I encountered were directly given to me by my daughters’ own pediatrician! She made me, yes, made me, give my asthmatic daughter the flu vaccine when she was 4. That year, she missed more school that ANY year since- and that was the last year she got a vaccine! I finally educated myself and stopped thinking that just because someone has Md after their name doesn’t mean they know it all. I got the swine flu and was sick with a fever of 101F for about 4 days, then just tired and week for another 3 days (no fever). It was not a big deal, just a simple, normal fever and flu. I cannot understand what all the indoctrination of fear is about unless there is a hidden agenda. His fragile system could take no more poison and regressed from speaking 19 words (consistently) at 15 his month check-up to speaking 2 words (infrequently) at his 18 month check-up. Mercury is Mercury. I recently heard about how the actual bottle of immunization has to be shaken vigorously each and every time one of the shots is withdrawn OR the heavy metal Mercury sinks to the bottom. The last child/adult given the 4th shot out of that bottle will end up with almost the full dose of the mercury for the whole 4 shots! That poor unknowing person WILL have 4 times the deadly mercury poisoning. The person that was telling the Health Board about this saw a nurse who turned deadly white when this was told, she had given many many innoculations and she did not KNOW that it must be shaken vigorously, she never shook them at all!
Now anyone can put a simple thing like shake first to the back of importance levels. It would seem like an innocent accident. And it would be. BUT in THIS case, how many of those poor people got the full four doses of mercury? Each year? The bottles sit in the fridge, they wait for the next little kid to come for a shot. I have not seen MY doctor shake it. Have you?
My children have febrile seizures from the shots, the regular immunizations. I stopped them by filling in the Public Health Innoculation Exemption form. I had to have it Notarized and paid for the service. The schools are to inform ME of any outbreaks to take my child home away from the infections raging around. She is now 7 years old and in grade 2. Not once in all the years of daycare or school haveI EVER been called to take her home. This summer she caught a bug I have never seen the likes of before. She was severely ill, very weak, fever very high, lackluster, etc. I believe she caught the true H1N1 flue at that time. We had been shopping in a nearby town and she had food at the popular McD’s. I did not, but I did go into the location to make the purchase. She got deathly ill two days later and it took her around 4 weeks in total to recover from it. My friend who is older than me in her early 50’s, she was also in that town and happened to go eat at the same restaraunt on the same day but not with us. She was deathly ill, with the same symptoms and came down with it only one day later than my daughter.
So when my little daughter got ill after Halloween weekend, she had such a horrible migraine she said and wanted to go to the hospital for it. We waited a long time, as they were very busy with flu cases. LOL I love that part. After my describing how she was fine until she ate 2 days of candy (she is sensitive to aditives and msg, and allergic to soya in all forms), that I believe that she is reacting in allergic responses…they diagnosed that she had the H1N1 flue, that she needed to take Tamiflu meds. Sent her home. Told me that it MUST be taken withing 48 hours of the fever. I went and read about the Tamiflu med, did not like what I saw. It can actually cause the exact things that you get with the flu, including death! It ONLY works IF taken in the first 48 hours, which she had 3 months before this. So why on earth would I foolishly give her a med that will not fix her, will not help her, but COULD kill her?
Everyone in that emergency room was being diagnosed with flu. Some were being sent to stay with “drips” on their arms. My daughter did NOT have the flu. I am 50 years old, I believe by NOW I can notice signs of flu??????? I used to work in the health care industry doing in home care. I was very intuitive at discerning symptoms of my clients, was used as emergency replacement for the Intake Supervisor when she could not attend.
When my daughter could not get comfort in any way or shape from me or Tylenol when she had her last shot at 2 years, I vowed then and there to never EVER let her have another. 5 febrile seizures on the VERY SAME DAY as her innoculation is way beyond anything of “value to society”! They doctor would NOT give me a written vow there and then that he would care for my child financially and responsibly for the rest of her life IF she was to become mentally handicapped from the next innoculation of the series. Therefore I would not allow any further shots. I was around 45 at the time. I am not a young woman and would not be around a long time. He hated me that day, my doctor. I did not care. Unless he would guarantee IN WRITING to be PERSONALLY responsible for my child if she is harmed, I would not inflict her with any further shots and hse has had no further innoculations of ANY kind since then.
So, how do I know that these doctors REALISE that you must shake the bottle each and every time? I dont. Do you?

I am concerned, because I have read that the blood brain barrier sometimes takes as long as two to three years old before it is developed. Bavk in 1982 my 15 month old daughter nearly died from a tonic clonic seizure caused by her DPT shot. I was lead to believe that only the pertussis component was to blame, but never fely easy about vaccinations afterwards. I am now already a grandmother, yet, even with our own personal family history was not able to convince my pregnant daughter to avoid the vaccine recomendations of her OBG, a few weeks ago. Luckily nothing happened, but that may be because her pregnancy was farther along. I was raising my grandson until he died in his bed, unexpectedly in October 08, but he had been a micro-preemie born at 26 weeks and barely made it. Yet, the NICU ped ordered his 3 month vaccinations be given, before he should even have been out of the womb. He had been doing so well until that point, qualifying as a miracle baby, but shortly thereafter began having Infantile Spasms a terrible form of seizure disorder and wound up being severely disabled. I have an online aquaintance, who I grew close to while my precious grandson was alive, that I remained in touch with. Her son’s issues are very similar to my grandsons, so I naturally have an ongoing interest and deep empathy. So, I also tried to convince that mother not to give her son the H1N1 vaccine. That effort also went in vain. Right after his vaccine he went into such a severe escalation of his seizure disorder he’s virtually in Status, or non stop seizures, ever since and now hospitalized.
Doctors, especially pediatricians and OBGs weild the power of life and death by their recommendations. They hold more sway in most patient’s decision making processes than their own family, or concerned friends, or even COMMON SENSE! Yet all you ever hear is the disclaiming caveat, with any “responsible” advice is to be sure and “ask your own doctor first”. I’m outraged with the World Health Organization, The American Medical Association and everyone on down the chain of Big Pharma’s command. I know some of you may think he’s a raving maniac declaring such preposterous accusations but take it from me, a 73 y/o mom who has done much research and lived a lot of life’s experiences, that what he says does NOT need to be taken lightly! I work in a Parenting center in Toronto, Canada. More or less one third of the parents commented on allergic reactions after their children (ages 1 to 4)got the H1N1 shot. Hives, fever, vomiting and diarrea. Please remember that if you are allergic to eggs you SHOULD not get vaccinated.
This sickens me. This is NOT 1 in 10,000 women miscarrying — forget the statistics given to you by the corporate main stream media — and the doctors who are controlled by the super-rich pharmaceutical companies. They do not care about you or your baby — they only care about their profit line. Second, I want to implore these women to please be sure and report these adverse effects to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Only by getting thorough reporting of these adverse events can we apply pressure for our government to insist on further testing of vaccines for safety, before they are administered.
My heartfelt condolences to all the mothers who lost their babies. I am 33 weeks pregnant & I took the H1N1 shot 10 days ago. I was very reluctant at first but after speaking to few other pregnant women who took the shot way earlier than me, I decided to let my doctor give me one.

I would like to respond to some of the woman who have posted on this site, suggesting that the miscarriages would have happened anyway and are probably not being caused by the vaccine. That may very well be the case, but it is imperative that this issue be researched. To just assume that the vaccine is perfectly fine and maintain the status quo is just bad science. It never ceases to amaze may how many in the populace will keep skipping down the path paved by authority figures, even when there are red flags popping up along the way. For example: My aunt used to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Back when they were just starting to raise questions about the toxicity of DDT on the environment. She was one of these people who claimed that some environmental crazies were just raising a ruckus over nothing. We all know where that led.
Again, my point is not that the vaccine is absolutely causing the miscarriages. My point is that we need to investigate and research this issue, to determine what is or is not happening. Not just claim everything is fine with the vaccine and move on our merry way.
I have always had adverse reactions to the flu shots… Once I was turned I refused to get them anymore and no longer have hardly any problems with the flu… My daughter got the flu shot when she was little just barely a year… She had to be hospitalized within 3 days of receiving the shot. Her pediatrician told me flat out to NEVER give her another flu vaccine… She gets all of her regular shots with minimal reaction except her most recent round the 5 year vaccinations… Major swelling at the injection site and fever for 2 weeks… I had problems with my regular vaccines as a baby the broke each shot down into 3 because I would get so sick… I am now 37 weeks pregnant with my second child and am refusing to either flu shot… Every time I go the OB they try for 5 to 10 minutes to convince me to get them… I don’t want them and have been stating this from the beginning of my pregnancy on… I get the feeling that they think that I am stupid for not wanting the shots… They continually keep telling me that I NEED to get an epidural during my labor as well… Since when did that become a necessary thing to have done? I had my daughter with NO pain medication at all, and plan to do the same with this one… Why are we being pushed to have drugs in our systems that we don’t want and have the right to refuse???

My heart goes out to the parents who have miscarried a baby, and also to the parents who have vaccinated their children and now have chronically ill or injured children. My older son (14) was fully vaccinated and has seizure disorder and chronic sinus infections and colds. In between children I “woke up” and my younger son (3) is totally unvaccinated. My younger one has had one cold in his life. That’s it. He has never had an antibiotic. He is exposed to everything that other children are exposed to but it seems his immune system is just incredibly strong and he stays healthy. Every day I wish I had declined vaccinations for my older son, but I simply didn’t know then what I know now. I am so thankful for the internet, because it gave me easy access to information that was not readily available when my older son was born in 1995. I encourage all parents, prospective and new, to research, research, research!! Read everything about vaccines that you can yet your hands on. Make your own decision. If your doctor tries to bully you into doing something that goes against your gut feeling, find another doctor. It is your child, your choice.

Doctors are not going to tell their patients the vaccine is unsafe when they ask for it. There is no liability for either the doctor or the drug companies. Did your doctor tell you whether or not the vaccine you received has thimerosol in it? What? Thimerosol is MERCURY and can cause severe brain dammage. What about the other adjuvant SQUALENE? Did you ask your doctor about these additives? You must educate yourself about these dangers. Do you not wonder why so many babies have autism now and it was not prevalent at all (if even heard of!) prior to requiring all these vaccines? Look at what is going on in The Ukraine with the H1N1 flu vaccine. I am sorry for you if you take the word of one doctor whom you should be able to trust, but the world is not like that anymore. I am a Registered Nurse and there is no way I would take this vaccine. No way at all.
My heart breaks for all the women (and men and families) that have lost their babies due to this vaccine. I rec’d 2 separate calls from my Dr’s office urging me to get my shot ASAP since I was on the short list due to my pregnancy. I just had the strangest feeling about it and couldn’t do it… instead I put an onion in a bowl in every room of the house (to absorb viral bacteria) stayed home as much as possible, used Lysol on household surfaces after my teenaged son had friends over (there are confirmed cases of H1N1 at his school), gargled with Hydrogen Peroxide 2x/day and swabbed my nostrils out with Hydrogen Peroxide daily as well. I’m grateful and thankful to still be 23 wks pregnant with my daughter. I’m outraged that in a society so “intelligent” as ours this can be occurring. This is criminal. I’m sticking to old-fashioned common sense when it comes to my and my families health and the Medical establishment can go “stick” themselves.
These comments are ANECDOTAL evidence, and not science. True science is based ON LONG-TERM, CONTROLLED, PEER REVIEWD studies and experimentation. There is, as yet, no reliabl scientific evidence that shows a link to miscarriages and swine flu vacine.

I’m 27 weeks pregnant right now and I’m so glad I decided not to get the vaccine. It was so pushed but I followed my inner feeling to not get it. As I read this, it really made my thankful that I chose not to.
My wife and myself have known about these vaccinations for some time, all the deadly combinations of ingredients that mfr’s put into them. My sister was told, but still let a “brow-beating” school administor talk her into having to get the shot for her 6 year old girl, Julia (our niece). Julia is very healthy and very smart, knows English perfect and some Spanish. She was given 3 shots and 2 days later, was sharing a bed with mom, when mom felt a lot of motion i bed, turned to see Julia “blue in the face, having a seizure” She wouldn’t stop for some time. She ran of of oxygen and stopped seizing. Mom (my sis) had to perform cpr to get her breathing, then rushed her to the hospital. We went there too, as all of the family found out. Really ticked all of us off, to say it mildly. Julia seems fine now, but no more shots, Period!

Regarding the law that was passed making it not possible to sue the pharma companies, I wonder if it were challenged would it stand up in a court of law if it was found to be unconstitutional. All affected by these vaccines should try to find a lawyer who will work on contingency and start a class action suit against the pharma companies and the FDA. Even if you didn’t get a lot of money out it, you might be instrumental in squashing that unfair law which basically says the pharmaceutical companies can do whatever they want to us.
