U.S. health authorities have made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups for getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, but is it actually safe for pregnant women and their babies? Well, the truth is that miscarriage reports from pregnant women who have taken the H1N1 swine flu vaccine are starting to pour in from all over the nation. Vaccines and pregnancy simply do not mix safely. In fact, the package inserts for the swine flu vaccines actually say that the safety of these vaccines for pregnant women has not been established.

We have two healthy boys with no history of miscarriage. Everything was going great. Last Monday, I got the H1N1 vaccine thimerosal reduced (mercury reduced for pregnant women). On Tuesday morning, I started cramping and on Wednesday I started bleeding heavily. My hcg was 50 on Wednesday and I was almost 6 weeks along so it was low. They still thought that I might be pregnant but on Friday my hcg was down to 22. I am an emotional wreck. I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven't been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages. I hope that I did not cause this. I wish everyone the best.

I don't have an answer for you, but a friend of a friend just had a miscarriage 2-3 days after getting the shot. She was 7weeks. She had no previous history of m/c... No one can answer if they're related...it hasn't been out long enough and there haven't been any studies done on pregnant women. I will tell you, that it has made up my mind on getting it...I won't and I'm not going to get it for my DD either. My daughter and I both had H1N1 last week, and although it truly sucks...I think I'll take my chances. One doctor will tell you to get it and the next will tell you not too...you have to do what's in your heart.

my heart goes out to you as i recently miscarried as well and was due in june. i had a healthy heart beat at 6wks. then at 7.5 wks my son got the h1n1 mist vaccine which has live vaccine in it. the nurse said to be careful b/c it could technically spread if he rubbed his nose and touched a surface etc. the next night i miscarried and 5 days later was diagnosed with h1n1. i work from home, kids are home, hadnt been anywhere during that time. so the chances that it is all related are very high. the flu mist vaccine warns for immunocompromised patients (which includes prego) to stay away from recipients of the flu mist for 21 days.

My baby was growing at the correct pace and everyone wants to brush off the vaccination. I also agree something needs to be done and looked more into with this vaccination because most women are being advised it’s just something that happens, but I also had two healthy children normal pregnancies and when I received this vaccination with my third pregnancy, my baby is gone.

I received the H1N1 vaccine on October 16th and started experiencing cramping on the 22nd. I was nearly 17 weeks pregnant and gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on the 23rd. Like many of the other women here, the first thing I suspected was the H1N1 vaccine. I immediately asked a nurse at the hospital if that would have anything to do with it. Without hesitation, she told me “absolutely not.” I had reservations about getting the vaccine, but followed the advice of my long trusted family doctor. In a follow up appointment with my doctor 3 days after I lost my baby, I asked him if the vaccine would have had any adverse effects on my baby. He also said that it was not possible. I don’t believe that my doctor was necessarily lying to me, he was simply following the accepted practices and opinions of his field. I do, however, believe that as a nation, we are being lied to. This vaccine is NOT safe during pregnancy. There has not been enough testing done to determine this and there are far too many “coincidences” for this to be anything but a result of a vaccine that was hastily pushed into production and distribution in an effort to stop widespread panic. I have read so many stories in defense of the vaccine that will talk about how common miscarriages are, but I would challenge you to ask ANY health care professional how common second trimester miscarriages are. My baby was doing perfect developmentally and I had felt him move earlier that day. My heart goes out to all of you out there who have had to go through the same heartache and loss that I have had in the last couple of weeks. There is no reason that any woman or family should have to go through this. Get the word out to all of the pregnant women that you know. I know that if I had heard that women had been losing their babies shortly after they received the vaccine, I would have followed my gut and not gotten it myself. Maybe then Wyatt would have had a chance at life.

I’m from a town of 2000 in SD, there are several women pregnant and we are all due within a few weeks of each other. Four of us got the H1N1 vaccine 2 weeks ago and one by one each of us started to have preterm contractions. We are all due in Nov and Dec so we are further along than most of the people that lost their babies. There is no way you can tell us that our preterm labor was not caused by the H1N1 vaccine. It may look like a “fluke” to some people when these women are scattered all over the country but we are talking about 4 of us in our small community. I got a flu shot in pregnancy, developed incredibly strange symptoms immediately (numb hands, feet and mouth, heart palpitations, sudden weakness in my legs, a bright red face), began bleeding and miscarried by 11 weeks. I had no idea there was mercury in most flu shots but once I found out after the fact, I was assured that I’d had the “mercury free” form. As it turned out, the shot wasn’t completely mercury free and, according to the EPA website, it still had 5,000 times the limit for mercury in drinking water– not to mention a list of other toxins (MSG, formaldehyde, etc.).
I’d had no idea the shots were so dirty. I guess I’d been under the impression they were something like sterile water and a dead virus, that’s it.

No one in my family is getting the H1N1– no one even gets regular flu shots anymore, we all read labels.
If you are a pregnant mother, please do not take the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. Instead, do everything that you can do to avoid public places and make sure to wash your hands more than you usually would. Take extra large doses of immunity building vitamins and research many of the great natural ways for fighting the flu that are out there on the Internet.
The truth is that if you do take the vaccine and then something happens, you will NOT be able to sue anyone (thanks to Congress). You will have to bear all the responsibility yourself. That doctor who kept pushing and pushing it on you will tell you that it could not have been the vaccine and that you probably would have miscarried anyway.
Do you honestly want to inject a vaccine that may contain mercury, formaldehyde, polysorbate 80 (associated with infertility), triton X100 (a strong detergent), phenoxyethanol (antifreeze) and a whole bunch of other toxic ingredients into your system when you know that your baby will absorb it too and has no defenses against most of these things?

I was in support of vaccines and was comfortable with the fact that there is a national database that records “all” vaccine reactions so they can see trends and such – which is the info I got from my doctor.
Then, my daughter had a reaction to a vaccine at 18 months old. It was horrifying to watch her body swell for three days and not be able to do anything (Benadryl slowed the swelling, but couldn’t reverse it until three days had passed). I knew there were risks to vaccines, but it had seemed that the benefits outweighed the risks. I could have accepted that.
I was not prepared for the reaction of the medical community. My doctor’s office refused to admit it was a reaction – even while she was swelling! They were concerned about the swelling, asked me if I knew how it started, then, when I mentioned that I suspected the vaccine they sent me home and said I was imagining things. A few hours later she had to go to the ER. Later I took her to an allergist who confirmed that it was a reaction. He told me that a lot of people react to the 3rd DTaP shot – even if they’ve been fine before. Still, he encouraged me to continue getting all the shots except for the last DTaP.
No one ever reported any of this to the national database.
My pediatrician pressured me to get more shots for my kids, but I refused. I’ve recently found out my kids’ medical records falsely state that my kids DID get additional vaccines.
My daughter had been ahead on speech milestones at the time of the reaction, from that date (October) to the following July, she only learned 8 new words, and her language development froze. We’ve done three years of therapy now and she is in special ed.

Needless to say I will never let another vaccination needle touch her little body again. Weather our health system wants to admit it was related or not I cant help but believe that it was. Other than being small she was 100% healthy at birth and remained that way for 3 months…. until her first set of shots.

Before scaring all pregnant women who’ve gotten the vaccine, perhaps you should have considered posting some statistical evidence that vaccinated women miscarry more frequently than non-vacinated women. I don’t believe that anyone has been able to come up with that data that shows this result. And if so, I’d love to hear about it.
My friend at work whose wife is pregnant and got the vaccine shot here in Canada about 2 week ago (the adjuvant vaccine shot). She is perfectly fine and has NOT miscarried.
One in five pregnancies is miscarried. Janet is right; without showing a comparison between miscarriage rates in vaccinated versus unvaccinated women, this means nothing. Some people get in car accidents after getting a flu shot. It doesn’t mean that the flu shot caused the car accident, just that car accidents happen!
As shocking as these stories are, we can also find as many “shocking” stories of pregnant women dying of H1N1. No one should make decisions based on anecdotal “evidence” like this.

The flu has been around since the beginning of human existence. All of a sudden, over the past few years, there is this major “campaign” to get everyone a flu shot. Give me a break. The scare tactics are ridiculous and I can’t wait for the day people wake up!
I am 18.5 weeks pregnant, and received this vaccine a week and a half ago. At this point, I have had NO negative symptoms from this vaccine. I had achiness in my shoulders for about 24 hours, but it was minor, and something to be expected with most vaccines. With all things, there are risks, but for people like me who work in the public (you know, people who are idiots and go out when they are SICK), the shot was a better option than contracting h1n1 and having MORE complications from the sickness.
That said, I feel incredibly terrible for the mommies who have lost their babies. My heart hurts for them. I am sorry for all of their losses..
I am worried about the ones that don’t miscarry too in the sense that what happens to their child when it is born. Will the child be born with brain damage or physically damaged or injured in some way? After all the child gets everything the mother is getting and all flu shots have mercury in them. Mercury in any quantity is dangerous especially for developing children. Remember there has to be a reason why you can’t sue the vaccine manufacturers if you or your child is injured. Who would in their right mind allow chemicals injected into your blood stream, into your body under those conditions? You would be nuts!!!! I almost died. I had to have eye surgery at age of 4,mom had to teach me to walk and sit all over again. I don’t care if someone feels that the shot will save them from something, just don’t use it when pregnant and on small children.

I will pray for your baby…I will pray that baby’s mommy won’t continue to be victim of scare tactics. I understand you work with the public and understand you wanting to be safe. But you really need to do some more research and understand that by getting ANY vaccine during ANY time of pregnancy can be detrimental and if you think that little shot hasn’t hurt your developing fetus just because you didn’t miscarry you could be wrong and hopefully your child will not suffer any neurological issues. Fact: Vaccines give someone a false sense of security, making one think you will not get sick when in fact you can still get the illness.
Fact: A child’s immune system isn’t fully developed (100%) until 3 years old. I wonder what percentage a developing fetus would be?
Fact: Every time you get any vaccine you are weakening your immune system. When you do get sick you’ll get hit harder then you would have if you would have stayed away from the jab.
Fact: A flu shot can NOT be given to a baby 6months and under…so why can it be ok for a developing fetus?

Fact: In many cases the wrong strain of flu has been chosen. For example, last year the CDC guessed the wrong strain. So everyone who got a flu shot…what was the point?
Fact: Mercury is 1000 x’s MORE toxic then Lead. How would you feel if lead were injected into you, even at small amounts?
Take the time to read the package inserts. Take the time to research the illness you are getting the vaccine for. Find out if it really is life threatening. For example…no one really dies from the flu, they die from complications. They die because maybe they have an underlying health condition like heart issues. They now have research out there that says taking antipyretics (Tylenol, Motrin) while having the flu can be detrimental to your health. What is the Vit D3 level of the person who passed from complications from the flu? And how shot was this person’s immune system from all the years of jabs? You are foolish to think a toxic-filled injection will protect you from illness. Taking care of your self, sleep, diet, vitamins, etc will help you get thru illnesses.
Also, people with Asthma need to get a clue too…Fact: if you have Asthma and get a flu shot you have a 3x’s higher chance of ending up in the hospital!!! Why? Because that jab and with all jabs you just weakened your immune system.

I have a question for those who plan to get a flu shot while pregnant…do you know if your fetus has a hypersensitivity to egg proteins? I didn’t realize my son was until he was about a year old. Do you know that a flu shot can be life-threatening if you have a systemic hypersensitivity to egg proteins?

I find it interesting in ALL the inserts all of them state that the safety of this vaccine has not been established in pregnant patients. I also find it morally, and should be legally wrong, for anyone in the medical community to promote flu shots to their pregnant patients considering the safety of the product has not been established. It is not shocking you are putting poisons into your body what did you think would happen!!! A fetus is very fragile. You won’t see any public research saying anything about pregnancy and vaccine related “accidents” they don’t do them. Although they have done studies on the harmful affects of the flu with women who are pregnant and the dangers of mercury for preganant women. women who are preganant shouldn’t drink alcohol, take drugs. The ONLY way this might start getting looked into would be if EACH of you asked that your OB/GYN physician reported your experiences as potential adverse reactions to the vaccines to the Federal Drug Administration. If your doctor refuses to do so, you can make such a report yourselves. The form is online and the process is really pretty simple.
The reporting of adverse reactions is ‘voluntary’ by doctors, nurses, dentists, clinics, and / or hospitals. It has been my experience that few of these health care providers are 1) willing to consider the possibility of the adverse conditions connected to some pharma product or devise (in large part because they are group thinkers who if some higher entity thinks for them and blesses it — then it must be acceptable); and/or 2) they are too lazy to do so.
What you report will not be considered ‘scientific’ but at least there will be a growing written record of your concerns logged in someplace.
In addition to the H1N1 vaccines being ‘fast tracked’ to rush to the public with nearly zero testing just piggy backing on the safety of the ‘seasonal flu vaccine’ standards. Consider that most drugs have only been tested on healthy, young, white male adults. That leaves out issues that might impact those whose health is not ‘perfect’. And, take a look at the articles coming out of Great Britain on the impact of the vaccines they have been using this past summer on their citizens. Should have raised some serious concerns in the USA…should have…but for some reason it has not….
Finally — I SURE hope you all are asking for and recording the batch number from which your vaccines have been given to you and your family members. If not, you all better start writing down this kind of information before it disappears or is part of the claim that ‘we just didn’t think it was necessary to record that information’ for your medical files.

I’ve been reading all these replies – and I can not speak for the H1N1 vaccine. I do feel passionately about regular vaccinations. Our generation has been “spoiled” so to speak by not seeing all the diseases that were around before vaccinations. Mumps, measles, polio, etc…. we don’t see that anymore. There are people I know who’s parents know people who were affected by these diseases and even died. There are risks taken when vaccinating, they are not fool proof – but the majority of people come out fine. It is VERY sad for the people/children who do end up with side effects (autism, paralyzed, etc) but as a whole that doesn’t happen too often. Think about it, we take risks everyday – driving in a car – how many people died last year in car accidents? But we still do it. Bathing – how many people have died in a bath tub – but we still do it. These diseases are not gone – by vaccinating we are keeping them at bay. If nobody vaccinated, we would experience all of these diseases, they would spread. I support vaccinations – I am well aware of what’s in them. And the mercury in them, there is MORE mercury in a can of tuna – you don’t see that banned in our country? People eat that all the time.

Summary:
Because of the advent of a new influenza A H1N1 strain, many countries have begun mass immunisation programmes. Awareness of the background rates of possible adverse events will be a crucial part of assessment of possible vaccine safety concerns and will help to separate legitimate safety concerns from events that are temporally associated with but not caused by vaccination.
We identified background rates of selected medical events for several countries. Rates of disease events varied by age, sex, method of ascertainment, and geography. Highly visible health conditions, such as Guillain-Barré syndrome, spontaneous abortion, or even death, will occur in coincident temporal association with novel influenza vaccination.
On the basis of the reviewed data, if a cohort of 10 million individuals was vaccinated in the UK, 21·5 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome and 5·75 cases of sudden death would be expected to occur within 6 weeks of vaccination as coincident background cases.
In female vaccinees in the USA, 86·3 cases of optic neuritis per 10 million population would be expected within 6 weeks of vaccination.
397 per 1 million vaccinated pregnant women would be predicted to have a spontaneous abortion within 1 day of vaccination.
This is so sad and does not surprise me. In my investigations about vaccines and diseases I discovered that my miscarriage was due to a tetanus vaccine I had.

In Canada the Arepanrix vaccine is being used. It has not been tested on pregnant women. This is from the leaflet, from studies done with the h5n1 vaccine that was manufactured vy a similar process.

In the second study, there was an increased incidence of post-implantation loss, and the fetal variation of dilated ureter. Not all findings were observed in both studies, and hence the toxicological significance is uncertain.”
I think any physician who says that the vaccine is not responsible for miscarriage is uninformed.
Don’t you think the doctors should know what the manufacturer’s say about their own products? Don’t you think the doctors should know:
1. Not to administer the vaccine in the first trimester due to a disproportional risk for spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).
2. That no animal reproductive studies have been conducted to determine if the vaccine will A) cause fetal harm when injected into a pregnant woman; B)it is not known if the vaccine can be excreted in human milk; C)it is not known if the vaccine can impair fertility or affect reproductive capacity; D) no studies for carcinogenicity or mutagenicity;E) no studies on concomitant administration with other vaccines.
It is a wonder how the “Safety” of this and any influenza vaccine for pregnant woman has been established when no studies have been conducted to ascertain it!!! Read the package inserts, people! I hope women research IgG2 deficiency before deciding whether or not to remain vaccine free. IgG2 deficiency can be easily tested with a regular panel blood test and is TREATABLE.
Australians scientists found all their patients who were critically ill had IgG2 deficiency and after treating them for the deficiency, all but 1 survived!

I have had four kids and have never been told or encouraged to get a flu shot from my OBGYN during any of my pregnacies. Please don’t get this vaccine if you are pregnant and don’t give it to your children!! Vaccines cause many illnesses and even deaths. Because the vaccine doesn’t do anything…the fact they live in filth is the reason they can’t get rid of Polio. Dear H1N1Prevention, thank you for pointing that out. I have the same info for people…take care of your self and you won’t have to worry. While, anyone can get sick from anything at any time, we need to understand that taking care of yourself, understanding that we are so very much deficient on Vit D3, eating good foods…these sorts of things are gonna be the savior in the long run.
The Obama administration has spent BILLIONS of tax-payer money on vaccines but has NEVER made one mention to the public about natural ways to stay healthy, no mention that 1 in 5 children are Vit D3 deficient, no mention that eating a better diet is best, etc. Its so sad.

OK. What I don’t understand is…..pregnant women try really hard to avoid things like smoking, drinking, eating too much or certain fish, to help insure you have a healthy baby. Why on earth would you get a shot that hasn’t been proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt, to not be harmful to your baby or child? …..and shame on all of you who try to bully everybody into getting these shots because it’s what you believe.
My father was a physician. My mother was a nurse. I used to believe in vaccinations until I began to research vaccine science and found out that the vaccines DON”T PREVENT ANYTHING. Dogs that have been innoculated against parvo still get it. Children innoculated against mumps, measles and other diseases are MORE LIKELY TO GET THOSE DISEASES THAT CHILDREN WHO AREN’T VACCINATED. Sorry to hear about the people who had miscarriages. I received the H1N1 vaccine at 28 weeks pregnant and have not had a problem and I am now at 30 weeks.
