Sadly a real issue, despite our vast research and evidence. I've seen it firsthand. It's amazing that restaurant owners still insist on doing things the way they see fit, including not following
food storage and handling protocol. 50% of all health code infractions in the USA are repeat offenses. How many people need to get sick before the reigns are tightened?

Great blog, it shows some proof to my ocd about washing and anti-bac hand wipes (must be the wipes!). I buy and wash clothes at home THEN try them on. If they dont fit I return them. WHen I eat out I used hand wipes for everything. Downside is you can wipe off salads, but hey I take my vitamins so I skip those and go for the over cooked and 'safer' foods.

my mother was from Greece and she considered the US to be a filthy place, she would not eat at any fastfood place, baked fresh bread every other day, made her own yoghurt and we would go to the open fields and collect dandelion greens. She lived into her 90s. I on the other hand have lived a fast life, and have terminal cancer!

Well with the aspartame in the soda, the high fructose corn syrup in the ketchup and "bread", the acrylamide and trans-fatty acids, the feces might be the healthiest thing on the menu.

This is very alarming!!! Thank you for your post and for making us aware of this shocking truth. It's a good thing that I always wash new clothes before using them.

The public at large is for the most part lacking in personal hygeine. To think these people prepare your food when you go out to eat. At the same time there is no way for us to truly assure ourselves that the cooks, and waitresses/waiters, do indeed wash their hands. An excellant argument for being a hermit. Can you say paranoia?
