I recently happened upon your website after seeking advice on who could be held liable the supermarker or the manufacturer of food goods after finding maggots crawling in my brand new bag of walnuts, for the third time. These walnuts came from California probably picked by migrant workers. The first time I took the nuts back the women at the store claimed my nuts didn’t come from there, the second time and third time the man behind the counter simply gave me my money back. I’m sickened by this website, and sickened that I’m afraid to eat my favorite nut and I used these to bake with. I didn’t just want my money back I want this to STOP! I FIND IT UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE PRODUCTS SUCH AS NUTS IN THE PRODUCE SECTION WITH LIVE MAGGOTS AND *********************************************.
My mother baked with walnuts since I was a child. We use to crack the nuts and remove the meats from the shells in those days maybe one nut was bad in the bunch, but the already shelled nuts which are extremely expensive should be maggot free. The Pittsburgh stores are not the cleanest and the managers don’t stock them properly either. Not sure what this protest will due but I hope someone reads it. Bona Apetit!

damn.. thats cool , i guess i dont really care. you may say its sad… that i dont really care but it just doesnt seem to bother me that bad ive eaten some worse stuff, but aye… i drink a gallon of orange juice every.. week? prolly every 4-5days. but.. im not trippin and im perfectly fine. with all those maggs & fly eggs

to be honest, i really couldn’t even read this blog post. made me feel disgusted just even skimming through it. i heard about the movie food inc before but i never got around watching it.. insects fragments in our food.. fly eggs ahhHhhh

No wonder the organic health movement in America is gaining so much steam. If almost nobody knows about the super-secret food defect allowances like you say, then how could it possibly be a significant reason that more people are buying organic food? Even the ingredients in the American food supply that are supposedly “safe” have been found to be quite the opposite.

I will be first to dispute the actions of the FDA, USDA and the CDC but this is article has gone over the edge. I would bet that your “organic food” is NOT as pure as you think it is.

Can you site a source for this statement? If not, don’t bother to say it.
I’m sorry to be so blunt but, you sound more like a fear monger than an intelligent writer here.

This is nasty.
I have not been a fan of the FDA in a long time & this sure does not help.
It is amazing what they will approve of. Yet, other things that are natural (not bugs or poop) are banned & almost illegal.

Uh.. Yeah, when you think of how much food is being produced on daily, in just one factory, for one kind of food.. It is, exactly as the FDA puts it, natural that rodent feces and insects will get into it.

The hilarious thing, is you think going to organics food will change that. They have to store the food somewhere.

I assume you’re the kind of person that obsesses about washing your hands with anti-bacterial soaps every 20 seconds? Because seriously, this is nuts. Use common sense.
