Quantify Your Fitness Goals for Success

Getting back into shape starts with getting off the couch and doing some physical activity. Just as important as the exercise itself, eating the right foods will help to fuel your workouts and shape your body. However, just doing exercise and eating right is not quite enough to see permanent results. It is essential to keep track of your progress with numbers so that you can see exactly how you are improving and what areas you still need to focus on.

Set A Schedule

One of the most important aspects of transforming your body is to be consistent with your workouts. The best way to do this is to keep track of your workouts using a calendar. Depending on what your goals are, you will need to set an appropriate schedule to complete your exercises. If your main goal is to lose a large amount of weight, you should do cardiovascular exercise for 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. You can choose which days to rest and which days to exercise. If you are more experienced, you can even perform cardio 7 days a week. If you would like to pack on a lot of muscle mass, you will need to focus on lifting heavy weights 2-3 times per week. How You Can Benefit from Growing Your Own Garden

What could be better than stepping out the door first thing in the morning and picking a bowl of organic and natural strawberries or grapes for breakfast? It’s so easy to do that there is no reason not to plant a grape and strawberry garden.  It’s cheap and very environmentally friendly.

How to Start a Grape Vine

Grapes come in various seedless and seed varieties and can be started for free. Take a cruise through the neighborhood, and look for neighbors growing grapes. After finding a variety of grape that’s ideal, ask the neighbor for a first year branch that’s about eight-inches in length. This will be a young and succulent branch that’s bright green and not woody. The best time to find this branch is in spring, right after the leaves open on the grape plant.

Take it home and stick it in a vase with water while the planting medium is prepared. Fill a shallow wooden box with clean sand. Beach sand will work fine. Make sure the box has drain holes. Take the grape branch and snip the lower leaves away, leaving a stem with a (Read More....)

4 Low Calorie Foods that Boost Your Body’s Metabolism

Any nutritionist will tell you that the way to lose weight is not to starve yourself; it’s to eat the right foods. What causes you to put on weight is not eating food but eating more calories than your body burns. When this happens the excess calories are converted to fat and stored in various places in the body, especially around the hips and belly. So if you don’t change your diet, you will keep accumulating those jiggly tyres around your midriff. Thankfully, nature has provided us with foods that we can use to not only control our weight, but keep us healthy and whole. Which foods are these?

1. Beans and Other Legumes

These, among other legumes have long been touted as a fat-free replacement for meat as a source of protein. But this is only half the story; beans have been found to encourage increased production of a digestive hormone called cholecystokinin which works to quell the appetite. A research carried out at the University of California found that the hormone was highest in people who ate a meal that included beans than in those who didn’t eat the legumes. As a bonus, beans also stabilize blood sugar levels, allowing you to keep hunger pangs at bay longer. A close relative of beans, the soy bean, also adds plenty to your arsenal in the battle (Read More....)

To keep your teeth and gums healthy, it is important to visit a dentist twice a year. A dentist will not only clean your teeth; he will also check for cavities and other things that could affect your oral health. There are many dentists out there, but not all of them are good ones. Some dentists are just not worth going to. If you are not sure what makes a good dentist, here are some signs you should look for.

1. He Explains Your Options To You

A good dentist takes the time to explain all of your options to you. If he is making decisions without talking them over with you first, it’s not a good sign. It shows that he isn’t invested in guiding you through different options and doesn’t care about making sure you are comfortable. A dentist should take the time to explain the problem and talk about every kind of solution for it.

2. He Wants To Get To Know You

A decent dentist wants to get to know his patients. He wants to remember them by name and find out a little background information about them. For example, it’s a good sign if your dentist asks you how your weekend was or if your kids are enjoying school. It shows that he (Read More....)
